I'll miss her funny sense of humor the most. She had this way of making everything "light". That's the only way I know how to explain it. She was never overbearing or over the top. She was nothing but fun to be around and always made side remarks that kept you laughing every time you thought about them. I'll never forget playing Mafia with her when she said, "I know you're the mafia because I peeked and saw you!" I mean who does that?! Really. Hilarious. I used to be so proud to tell that story that I had a little sweet old Grandma who loved to cheat while playing games.
She always took your side. And even if she didn't because even you knew you were wrong, she'd make a little joke or laugh to make you feel loved instead of frowned upon. I didn't realize what going to her house has meant to me growing up, til now. Even since I've been at home for the last 6 months I still loved going over there! I just wish my kids could've experienced what it was like to go over Grandma Wilcox's house.
I'm going to miss my Grandma but I feel lucky to be her granddaughter and hopefully I can create such a fun, loving environment for my grandkids one day like she did for us.
