Santa Barbara and Solvang

Dave and I had a little get-away-weekend to Santa Barbara and Solvang this weekend. Not that we really needed to get away from all our crazy kids or anything...but it was still fun to get away and see some new sites.

We spent some time in Santa Barbara and most of the day Saturday in Solvang, which is little Danish community just north of Santa B. The weather was perfect and scenery was beautiful.

Please excuse the cheesy couple shots.

This was in our ghetto hotel room Friday night. We walked to the convenient store and got some 'treaters'. We felt like little kids, especially since I was eating a Push-up...

This breakfast was absolutely delicious! Oh my goodness. When we were ordering the waitress said, "Are you sure you want to get all that. That's a lot of food." We looked at each other like, she has no idea who she is talking to.

De-licious! And yes those plates were completely empty when it was time to leave.

Yum. What a delicious combination. "I'll get cookies and cream please. Oh, and can you put extra mustard on my hot dog?" Because those two go together so well.

There was a Tea Party going on in Solvang and this lovely, Harley, hardcore man was driving around with his flags and Americana vest. But the best part was he was playing patriotic songs out of his motorcycle. Maybe if it was some sweet old grandma playing those tunes it wouldn't have been so alarming. But this guy looked a little too macho to be playing music like that. It really was a funny sight to see....and hear...I guess you had to be there.
